Luxury Tipis AT ADVENTURE TERLINGUA
Luxury glamping as they say! Our 6 Luxury Tipis each feature comfy king-size beds, a couch that folds into a bonus full bed, seating, high-volume evaporative coolers in the summer and a heater and electric blankets in the winter, private outdoor fire pit with two outdoor chairs, Keurig coffee and tea station, microwave, Berkey water filter, small sink, electricity, mini-fridge, WiFi, lamps, towels and linens. The 6 Tipis share a 3-unit bathhouse bathhouse with full facilities.
The Luxury Tipis sleep 4 but we allow up to 6 people. You will need to bring bedding and linens for any guests not utilizing the bed or sleeper sofa; we do not provide rollaways or air mattresses.
Note that the Luxury Tipis are not insulated or sealed and you should still consider your stay as a “glamping” experience that does not include traditional air conditioning or heat. The Tipis will still be warm in peak summer days and cold inside when it is cold outside. If staying in a Tipi please prepare appropriately for the weather forecast.
Also, since the Tipis are not a sealed environment, critters can get into them—including scorpions, crickets, and other things with lots of legs.
Believe it or not, it actually rains in the desert. While we do have long dry spells, we also have a monsoon season as well as occasional unseasonal, unexpected rain showers. There is a big ol’ hole in the ceiling of the Tipi and when it rains water does come in; the same goes for the front door. Because of that, we keep the very comfy beds covered in tarps before your arrival if rain is in the forecast and for you to use during your stay.
The Tipis are not on a generator backup and in the event of an area-wide power outage, unfortunately there is nothing we can do except wait for the electric company to resolve the issue. We do not issue refunds for power outages.
The Tipis are not drive-up sites, meaning you do not park directly next to your Tipi. You will park in the parking lot and take a short walk on a marked trail to your site. We provide carts to transport your items from the parking lot. RV/trailer/campers cannot be parked in the parking lot.
It’s all a small price to pay to get to stay in these gorgeous tipis, but please do not reserve a Tipi if any of the above may be an issue for you. You can read more about staying in a Tipi here and make sure it is the right choice for you.
