The Nomad Tipi is our most rustic tipi where you can get in touch with nature without sacrificing comfort. The Nomad Tipi has a full-sized bed, quality linens and pillows, electricity, high-volume evaporative coolers in the summer and a heater and electric blankets in the winter, WiFi, Keurig coffee maker, Berkey water filter, mini-fridge, detached shared bathhouse, and an in-ground fire pit with two chairs. Located at the Arroyo campground near the Lotus tents.

Note that the Nomad Tipi is not insulated or sealed and you should still consider your stay as a “glamping” experience that does not include traditional air conditioning or heat. The Tipi will still be warm in peak summer days and cold inside when it is cold outside.  If staying in a Tipi please prepare appropriately for the weather forecast. 

Also, since the Tipi is not a sealed environment, critters can get into them—including scorpions, crickets, and other things with lots of legs. 

Believe it or not, it actually rains in the desert. While we do have long dry spells, we also have a monsoon season as well as occasional unseasonal, unexpected rain showers.  There is a big ol’ hole in the ceiling of the Tipi and when it rains water does come in; the same goes for the front door. Because of that, we keep the very comfy beds covered in tarps before your arrival if rain is in the forecast and for you to use during your stay.

The Tipis are not on a generator backup and in the event of an area-wide power outage, unfortunately there is nothing we can do except wait for the electric company to resolve the issue. We do not issue refunds for power outages.
